I went to see Man of Steel tonight with a buddy of mine. Originally I didn't care to see it but I've been hearing some really good things and decided to check it out. One thing I heard was that there was too much action and honestly, I couldn't see how that would be possible. And now that I've seen the movie, I still don't understand the comment. Too much action? Um, it's a superhero film. Superhero = action...right? I loved the action! Not only did General Zod put up a really good fight, but so did his minions. There was one minion in particular that I wish they had given a little background on. They never showed his face so I'm not quite sure if he was humanish like the other Kryptonians or if he looked like a monster. He kicked Superman's ass pretty good, though. That made me giddy for some reason.
Let me also mention that I didn't know who Henry Cavill was before I saw this movie. Yes, I've heard of the Tudors but I've never watched it(although it's on one of my many watchlists). I've even seen Immortals and obviously I wasn't paying that much attention because I didn't realize how FREAKING HOT he is!!! Why don't we all take a minute to enjoy the view?
One last thing I'll mention is that the comedic elements fell flat. I could hear crickets chirping and honestly, I was a little embarrassed for the writers. The Marvel movies know how to make it work. Sorry, DC, but you need some help if you want to compete.
Aside from the bad jokes, I really liked this movie. And I'm sure you're wondering if Henry's hotness contributed to my liking of this film? Well duh, most certainly!
Til next time!
I just have to say, I appreciate so much that you can tell the difference between a DC Franchise movie and a Marvel Franchise movie. YAY! Bonus Points!
